Miesha is the Founder of Apogee Boise, she brings a unique blend of elite athletic achievement, real-world experience, and a deep commitment to raising capable, confident kids. As a former Mixed Martial Arts Champion, Miesha built her career on discipline, resilience, and the ability to perform under pressure—qualities she is passionate about passing on to the next generation.

Miesha is a mother of two (with one on the way), entrepreneur, and podcast host who understands the importance of developing the whole child. Through her work in media, business, and health, she has gained firsthand experience in goal-setting, communication, leadership, and personal accountability—skills that extend far beyond a traditional classroom.

As an entrepreneur, mentor, and role model, Miesha is dedicated to creating an environment where children are challenged, supported, and inspired to grow into capable, self-reliant individuals.

At Apogee Boise, Miesha plays a hands-on role in shaping the culture and student experience. She encourages leadership and teamwork, and supports children in building confidence, independence, and critical thinking skills. Her approach emphasizes real-world application—helping students learn how to solve problems, take initiative, and follow through on their ideas.

She believes that in order for young leaders to flourish it is essential equip them with the mindset, personal discernment and life skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Miesha is especially passionate about helping children develop strong character, physical confidence, and exceptional communication skills at a young age.

Hi! We’re the Sherfey family, and we’re so excited to be part of Apogee Boise. 

We’re an active, adventure-loving family that enjoys spending time outdoors, learning new things, and exploring the world together. My husband is a Boise firefighter, I work as an exercise physiologist, and together we’re raising our son in the mountains outside of Boise.

Creating meaningful experiences together is an important part of our family life. Through traveling, we’ve had the opportunity to explore new places, experience different cultures, try unfamiliar foods, learn about history, and see life through perspectives beyond our own. Travel has encouraged all of us to remain curious, adaptable, open-minded, and willing to step outside our comfort zones.

Those experiences have also shown us that some of the most meaningful learning happens through curiosity, conversation, exploration, and real-life experiences—and that is a big part of what drew us to Apogee.

After experiencing both traditional school and homeschooling, we knew we wanted something different for our son—something that combined meaningful academics with creativity, movement, strong relationships, real-world learning, and opportunities to explore the world around him.

We’re proud to partner with the founder of Apogee Boise and help bring this incredible learning community to local families. We believe children thrive when they are encouraged to ask questions, think independently, solve problems, experience new perspectives, build strong character, and discover what they are truly capable of.

We’re excited for this next chapter and can’t wait to serve the families who are a part of the Apogee Boise community!

Sarah Snyder brings her experience as a former public school math teacher and a passion for helping children learn in a more meaningful, hands-on way to Apogee Boise. Through her time teaching in the traditional school system, Sarah discovered that her vision for education aligned more closely with an approach that gives children the freedom to explore, ask questions, think critically, and learn through real-world experiences.

At Apogee Boise, Sarah loves being part of an environment that prioritizes curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, and individualized growth. She believes children thrive when they are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, develop confidence in their abilities, and discover their unique strengths.

As a coach, Sarah is excited to help cultivate a community where children feel supported, challenged, and inspired to become capable, independent thinkers who are prepared for life beyond the classroom.

Ariel is thrilled to be a part of Apogee Boise. She is entering her seventh year of homeschooling her four boys, ages 6 to 16, and spent five years helping lead a family-model co-op, teaching students from preschool through high school. Her goal, at home and in the classroom, is to raise competent, independent, respectful young people.

Ariel believes kids learn by phase, not by grade or test, and that real-world projects are the best way to build knowledge and skill. In her Greek mythology class, students designed board games that became their legacy to the school, still played by the students who came after them. She has also led survival skills and bushcraft classes for a range of ages, and she loves showing kids the math, science, and patterns hiding in the natural world. She's completed several LEMI trainings and keeps reading and learning to be an effective mentor.

Raised in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, with time in Montana, Ariel has called Idaho home for ten years. She and her family are always chasing the next adventure, whether that's camping, fishing, or a day by the river. She also loves cooking and a good book.
